Vain Repetitions…Avoidance

Vain repetitions merely means praying needless, superstitious misguided, unjustified or baseless prayers…

“But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking” Matthew 6:7

• We are to pray according to the will and word of God.

God is not a magi but because his ways & thoughts are higher than ours, they are thus mysterious to us.

• We pray according to his word because he hastens to perform it.
• We pray according to his will because it is an obedience.

When we do good and delight…

Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

[know, love, live to please and be pleased in him] 

…ourselves in the Lord, we have access to the desires of our hearts.

God is omniscience, omnipotent…from beginning to end the same, yesterday, today and forever.

Flee divination…

[Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast labored from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou may prevail. Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it] (Isaiah 47:12-14).
